These walls are two different colors, not sure if that's apparent. The pinkish wall took me -- no joke -- about 6 hours. First I painted it the same pinkish-beige as the rest of the room because I wanted that to be the base undertone, then I tried sponging on a light red, but then it was too... sponge-paint looking. So then I went over it again with another version of the red. Still not right. Then I gave up and painted the redder wall. The sponging was just too... harsh, sharp, obvious (what is the word I'm looking for?). Not subtle enough. I figured out if I just really watered down the paint, I could just "wash" the walls with color, and then it just blended so nicely! Except that this one wall came out much pinker than I intended. I was hoping for light red and dark red, like poppy vs red wine. Oh well. And the artwork I made out of a shower curtain and some form boards -- clever eh?
