Stairs double-wide!

If you remember earlier posts about my stairs, you'll remember that they were originally made from stacked, crumbling lava rock on the wrong side of the house.

After much work on my own and with Mom's help, we created a nice stairway out of pavers... You'll also noticed we moved the huge arctic willow brush that was blocking the front of the house.

We also installed a short gutter and rain chain in the front since there was no where to go with the gutter except across the garage... and the rain chain drains into a PVC pipe with holes in it to distribute the water into what will become a flower bed.

That ladder work was quite precarious and thankfully Mom took on that daring task. The driveway is SO steep and at an odd angle for hanging the gutter so I held it with all my might while she climbed up with the power drill and attached it.

BUT if you'll recall, I decided that the stairs should be double wide with pavers so... after another weekend toiling outside, it's COMPLETE!

Now I just want to add a railing on the right of the staircase, in the flowerbed. And build the yard up more so it's level. And the rocks piled in the front are going to be another little flowerbed. And... not sure what to do with the front of the house under that window... suggestions?
