But in the bathroom area, there was no tub, just a shower. And for someone who likes baths, or soaks, walking down the hall to use the "guest" bathroom was just a pain. Plus it really just didn't feel like much of a master bath for resale.
So with my parents' neighbor Doug, Matt undertook remodeling our bathroom. They ripped out the shower stall and floors...

We painted from the pale teal (hey, I thought it'd look cheerful) to the same mauve-ish tan as in the master bedroom...
Matt learned how to tile the floor...
And cut tile with a tile saw...
Of course we had to install his small tv... because, ya know, you wouldn't want to soak without sports on...
We did run into some remodeling disasters, as always. Stubborn backsplash tiles...
We used tiles that Doug had given me previously, leftovers from a job he did a Bledsoe's home in the area...
And it turned out beautifully!
Matt had the idea to replace the floorboards with tile... looks great!

And the new jetted tub is a beaut! And definitely worth it!
