The LONGEST drive possibly ever... today Madre & I drove from Albuquerque through New Mexico, through El Paso, and across most of Texas to San Antonio. Like SE Utah, it was very dry and desolate, though the closer we got to San Antonio, the more trees and bushes we started seeing (but nothing we recognized). At the hottest point, it was 106' !! But we did not turn on the AC. Thankfully my cousins Betsy & Robert were thoughtful enough to give me a trusty spray bottle fan! Don't mess with Texas?! Ha, don't mess with US. Also noticed about Texas that they are a TON of signs on the road, some with very good advice (see below). Anyhow, after hours of heat, we enjoyed a long swim at our hotel in San Antonio and are resting up for some good tourist fun tomorrow.
